Medical Khmer is an easy-to-use smartphone application that enables healthcare providers to communicate and assess monolingual Khmer patients. The goal is to bridge the language gap between healthcare providers and limited English proficient patients who speak predominantly Khmer, the language spoken in Cambodia.This mobile app contains general physical assessment and questions often used in routine exams,history gathering, and include a mini mental health status interview. This tool also contains transliterated Khmer for easy to understand pronunciation for second language learners.
This product is NOT intended to be used as a substitute for professional medical translators. Its purpose is intended to enable healthcare providers to learn basic Khmer medical terminology in order to limit the language divide.
